According to some reports on MLB.com the Yankees are close to obtaining Javier Vazquez from the Atlanta Braves for outfielder Melky Cabrera and some minor leaguers.
Vazquez was 15-10 with a 2.87 ERA and had 238 strikeouts.
Cabrera batted .274 with 13 homeruns and 68 RBIS.
Vazquez pitched for the Yankees in 2004 posting 14 wins and a 4.91 ERA.
Once this trade becomes finalized, the details will be on the blog.
